JSO Named 2004 Healthcare Publication of the Year
Huntington, NY, October 21, 2004 Elsevier/BioLink Communications is proud to announce the selection of The Journal of Supportive Oncology (JSO) as the 2004 Healthcare Publication of the Year by Medical Marketing & Media (MM&M). The award was announced at the MM&M Awards Gala on October 20 in New York City. The award recognizes medical journals and periodicals that have demonstrated quality editorial, innovation and impressive gains in market share, circulation and revenues.
In announcing the award, the judges noted that "In little over a year since its launch, The Journal of Supportive Oncology has made quite a name for itself. The journal has filled a void for many physicians and cancer patients on the topic of supportive care."
"A big plus-point for The Journal of Supportive Oncology is that it is written by the foremost physicians, nurses and investigators in the industry. The editors and editorial advisory board are clinical thought leaders in supportive and palliative care, ensuring that the content of the journal is of the highest quality."
"The original goal of the publication was to create the premier medical journal for supportive care in cancer; Elsevier/BioLink is well on the way to achieving that. A milestone of success was achieved in June of 2004 when the journal was accepted for review by the National Library of Medicine for Index Medicus. The original content, the quality of the design and the enthusiastic acceptance of its sponsors and readers have all contributed towards its success."
"The judges agreed that the journal was, quite simply, 'an excellent submission.'"
